LOCAL GOVERNMENT EDUCATION AREA ACTIVITIES, 1999-2007

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The LGEA started as an Area Education office in 1964, with Alhaji Garba Bakori serving as A.E.O while Alhaji Karofi as the school officer. In 1976 after creation of additional local Government, there were some reforms which changed the name of Area Education office to local Education Authority where Dutsin-ma has 64 Primary Across the five District; Dutsin-ma Safana, Batsari, Kankia and Musawa.

After creation of kurfi Local Government in 1991, the Dutsin-ma local government by 2006 has a total of 72 Primary Schools with the enrolment of Thirty Three Thousand, Five Hundred and two pupils. Alhaji Sule Abdu is Education Secretary that serves from 1999 to date

With seventy two (72 ) primary school spread across the LGEA, it has a total number of two hundred and eighty six classrooms, One Hundred and fifty three toilets facilities staff, and one hundred and six office accommodations.

The LGEA has Six Hundred and eighteen teaching staff. One hundred and ninety six non teaching staff, bringing the total to eight hundred and fourteen.
